Liz & Jacob’s Joyful Summer Wedding | Historic Andrew’s Memorial Chapel

On July 12, 2025, Liz and Jacob promised forever in the most heartfelt way. They were surrounded by family, faith, and the beauty of one of Dunedin’s most historic chapels. Their ceremony at the Historic Andrew’s Memorial Chapel, a timeless landmark built in 1899, was filled with meaningful details that made the day truly unforgettable.

The chapel was beautifully decorated with flowers lining the aisle and a cross at the front, creating a space that felt both elegant and sacred. Before the ceremony began, Liz’s grandpa played the piano, filling the air with music that made the wait for the bride even more special. Instead of a traditional guest book, Liz and Jacob chose a Bible for loved ones to sign, a touching detail that reflected their faith and the foundation of their marriage.

After photographing the chapel’s details, I headed to the bridal suite, where I captured Liz’s portraits just before she walked down the aisle. Meanwhile, Jacob was waiting in the chapel, full of anticipation, and I captured his portraits there as well. These quiet moments before the ceremony gave them each time to pause and reflect before stepping into their forever.

When the ceremony began, and the room fell quiet as Liz walked down the aisle. The moment was emotional—tears, smiles, and pure joy radiated from everyone as Jacob saw his bride. Pastor Alan of Bayside Community Church officiated a heartfelt service, leading them through vows that were both tender and meaningful.

After they said “I Do”, Liz and Jacob opened the chapel doors hand in hand. Jacob rang the historic chapel bell as their guests cheered, showering them with yellow and red flower petals. It was pure joy—laughter, applause, and the most radiant smiles as the new Mr. and Mrs. stepped into married life.

Right after, I gathered all 50 guests for a group portrait outside the chapel doors—a photo full of laughter, hugs, and so much love. We then moved into family and wedding party portraits, capturing every meaningful combination. Before guests departed, Pastor Alan invited everyone to extend a hand as he prayed over the newlyweds. This moment of collective blessing was incredibly moving and a memory Liz and Jacob will carry forever.

Once the group portraits wrapped up, we focused on the couple. We captured portraits of Liz and Jacob in the pews, near the altar, and throughout the chapel, as well as outside on the historic grounds. Their love was such a joy to capture!

It was such an honor to capture Liz and Jacob’s day—every tender glance, joyful laugh, and meaningful tradition. What a beautiful start to their marriage!
